Recently the school has acquired the status of an academy with the change of name to SADHU SINGH SHERGILL ACADEMY, MUKANDPUR. Moreover we have further entered into collaboration with MapleBear canadian school to redefine early childhood education to international standards
Many eminent personalities and individuals remained associated with the school to support the noble cause of spread of quality education in the rural area of Mukandpur which included Sh. CL Bains (IAS), Dr. S.S. Johl, Prof. S.S. Pawar, S.Kulwant Singh Gill of village Gunachaur, Mr. Mohinder Singh Dosanjh, S. Gurbax Singh Shoker, Mr. GS Gill (UK), S. Harinder Singh Bisla, S.Gurmajor Singh Shergill, Sh. Charan Das Selhi, Mr. M.L Aeri, Mr. MK Kesar, and many more local leaders.
Presently, S.Parminder Singh Gill, the elder son of S.Sadhu Singh Shergill has taken over as chairman and he is equally committed to carry forward the legacy of his father,S. Jagtar Singh Shoker a distinguished philanthropist and a sports enthusiast is Patron of the school. He has been intrumental in the establishment of a magnificent sports complex in a big way. Mr. Subhash Chander Sharma, an eminent educationist is currently the General Secty. of the school managing committee.
The school proved a boom for the promotion of girl education and the area really witnessed an "eve-O-lution". The girls have outnumbered the boys in the school during all these years. Many girls educated from this school got higher education and immigrated to the US, UK, Canada etc and became a source of the immigration of their parents also. Many alumnus of the school are pursuing distinguished careers in India and abroad. After the inception of this school, the development did not remain confined to the four walls of the school but village Mukandpur has grown in to a kind of education village having constituent college of GNDU, Amritsar and many more educational institutions.Thereater fast growth on all fronts market, housing, banks, hospitals etc. has change face of Mukandpur from village to buzzing township. Our commitment is no less than when we started and our endeavor is to grow further by leaps and bounds.
